Sorry about the complete lack of postings...

Hello everyone.

The internet we used in Dublin would freeze up every time I tried to login to this so I gave up on that. But let me try to quickly tell what we have done so far:

Arrived in Dublin after an extremely long plane ride. Jamie and I didn't sleep at all but Kristen was out! :) It was cool they gave us this little package with an eyecover and toothbrush and toothpaste and lotion and earplugs for our flight. We arrived in Dublin, which was a pretty small airport and already Kristen thought it was halarious (she has a thing with accents) It's interesting seeing the different things like the lift (elevator) and ladies and gents toilets (we seriously confused someone when asking for the restroom, they thought we needed a room to rest!) Got our luggage and took a taxi to our hotel. Our hotel was right on the river liffey which is like where everything is in the city. Anyways, while we were there we went to temple bar and OConnell Street and took a tour of the city and went to the Guinness Factory and then took a day trip out to the country which was actually my favorite part of our visit there. I guess that was the ireland i had imagined.

We flew into London at about 11 this morning (which is really early for MI- 6am) Took us a while to figure out how to get to our hotel but we finally were able to manuver the subway system with our luggage which was really awkward, and walked a while to get to our hotel and took a nap and went to dinner at subway!!!! :) Not sure if we will come back here soon but hopefully I will be able to update this again sometime during our trip.

Cheers!

On our way...

Exciting news!! We booked our hotels for our trip yesterday. In case anyone doesn't know who wants to know, here is our plan:

  • Aug 14- Leave Chicago fly to Atlanta then fly to Dublin, Ireland.
  • Aug 15- Arrive in Dublin at like 9:30 am
  • Aug 16-17: Dublin
  • Aug 18- Fly to London arrive at like 12ish
  • Aug 19-22: London
  • Aug 23 Fly from London to Dublin then Dublin to Atlanta to Chicago
In Dublin we are staying in these apartments called Ellis Quay. They are overlooking the River Liffey which is the main river that goes through Dublin. In London we are staying at the Langland Hotel. It is right down the street from the British Museum so hopefully we will be within walking distance/easy rides on the Tube (the London subway) of a lot of the stuff that we want to do. We were going to stay in hostels, but the price for a private triple (so drunk strangers wouldn't be staying with us) was about the same as these places so we decided to go this route.

Anyway, we have most of the work done for the trip. Now we just have to figure out how to fit in everything we want to do!!
