Disney Day 3

Day 3 we moved to a new hotel and went to Epcot while the "magic" of Disney moved our luggage for us! Epcot was a much more adult experience. While we were bombarded with kids at Magic Kingdom, Epcot had a more relaxed atmosphere. We really only wanted to hit one ride: Soarin'.

Everyone was a little nervous due to the signs warning about motion sickness and being scared of heights. It turned out really fun though! We sat in these roller coaster-like seats with our feet dangling and got lifted up to this huge movie screen that was pretty much 180 degrees. The seats blew wind in your face and swayed with the movements of the screen so it really felt like you were flying! It was really fun!

This was the only picture I could get, we were flying over Napa Valley I think.

Afterwards, we passed Nemo and had to ride it too! We sat in "clam-mobiles" and went around pretty much an aquarium, but they projected the characters from the movie into the aquarium so it looked like they were swimming in the aquarium together.

Just take a look at Natalie's face. She's totally spaced out already!

Jellyfish.

Crush! I love the turtles in this movie!

The World Showcase was really cool. Pretty much let us travel the world with one trip!

In front of France.

In Japan, Natalie and Ashley bought oysters and got to pick settings to put the pearls in! It was really cool since you didn't know what the pearl was going to look like and some people even got two pearls.

Ashley and Natalie picking out how to use their pearls.

Germany.

The architecture was really cool in each country. It was really like being there, but on a smaller scale.

In the U.K. we met up with Winnie the Pooh and Tigger! I will post pictures of the event that transpired after this picture was taken, but it pretty much it involved us trying to get a group picture and Natalie running away (after being creeped out by the costumes) and Tigger chasing Natalie outside and us having to drag her back inside. It was hilarious.

That night, Orlando got hit by a thunderstorm for a while so Ashley bought a Disney poncho (yes she looked awesome) and we watched the fireworks after it passed. Great, long, hot and tiring day!

Disney Day 2

Day 2 we rushed right into the "Disney" experience: Magic Kingdom! Keep in mind it was blazing hot in Orlando- mid 90's plus humidity. I won't list every ride we went on, but here are a few highlights:

In front of Cinderella's castle.

First ride, my favorite from childhood: Peter Pan!

Next was It's A Small World....

And while Sarah and Ashley went on the Dumbo ride....

Natalie sat in the fake dumbo after some coaxing.

Buzz Lightyear: this was the photo we could buy, I thought it was hilarious! We were supposed to shoot those laser guns at the aliens. Look how intense they are!

Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.

And some performance about "Magical" dreams come true or something like that at the castle.

We tried to hit the iconic rides. I think the only one we didn't hit was the Teacups, because we would have all puked.... and that is NOT magical.

Disney Day 1

Just got back from Disney World yesterday. So sad to be back, but at least the weather is nice. I think we must have brought it back with us since the last two weeks have been cold and rainy and we get back and today was in the 90's and sunny! Since I have so many pictures and things to say about this trip, I decided I will devote one post per day. Here is day 1.

So Ashley and I flew in pretty early so we would have a whole day in Orlando. Why waste a day, right? We arrived at the first of our two hotels that we stayed and and ate lunch and went to the pool right away.

Ashley eating her grown up meal of chicken fingers, fries, brownie and orange pop. :)

My tie-dye cheesecake!

The 60's pool.

Our hotel was themed with different decades. We stayed in the 70's, but this pool was in the 60's area.

Later in the afternoon, Sarah arrived. We went down to the 80's/90's pool for a little bit then went to Downtown Disney to get dinner.

Went to Planet Hollywood which was fun and we gorged ourselves! We were on the dining plan so all our meals were included so we all wanted to get the most expensive stuff!

The outside of Planet Hollywood.

The inside was cool and filled with stuff from movies. And was weird since it was a huge ball shape.

Our dinners.

After dinner we went home to wait for Natalie to arrive. Ashley and I took home half our dinner since we couldn't finish it. When Natalie finally did get in at 11:30pm, she was hungry, so she ate our cold steak and ribs! Onto day 2.....

Slacking again

I am terrible at this and am slacking once again. Maybe I should just upload the pics and forget about the blog part. That seems to be the hardest part for me. So here we go:

Potluck at work to get to know our future 12th floor nurses! I of course know everyone because they are my old buddies from 6! So excited to be on the same floor as them!

"Spring"/Easter cookies with girls from work. Worked the night before and was a little hysterical from lack of sleep. Our cookies were ridiculous.

Laura and Alexis

Melissa and I and the 100 different cookie cutters. I was really tired here.

Gunshot  victim dinosaur complete with bling

Pants and shoes

First bit of spring! Had to go mow the parent's lawn and was so excited to see trees blooming and flowers up!

Ashley came over and we went out on the boat! It was a beautiful day (although a little windy). We had Howie Nowies and a visit from some turtle friends and some scary Lochness monster thing. Like a 3 foot eel or something is what it looked like from the glance we saw of it.

This week Ashley came over again to go to a SW conference in A2. We went out to breakfast and I saw this kid lick his knife and stick it in the ketchup bottle. Of course before I could warn the waitress to toss it out, she cleaned the table and I'm pretty sure we got his ketchup bottle. Yuck.

There we go! Caught up for now! Disney in 10 days!!! YIPPEEEEEEE :)

Lipstick

This girl at work sells Avon and brought in a bunch of old lipsticks and perfume samples. We decided to put them on! The colors were ridiculous but it was the middle of the night and we were in a goofy mood....

Liver Lovers

On Saturday there was a bowling fundraiser for a camp that we send a lot of our patients to. It's for kids that have received an organ transplant. So every year, our floor raises money and creates a team: Liver Lovers.

After bowling, we went to Dominick's and got their pitcher of sangria. So good!

Capital City!

Moved dad to D.C.

Went to Ikea three times and put together more furniture than I care to remember.

Went downtown to the Cherry Festival but it rained the day before so most of the blossoms were gone.

Also visited Dad's new office while we were down there. He is right by The Mall!

Went to Old Town Alexandria with Grammy

Visited my Granddad

Central Michigan University in D.C.?
