June 19-24

So this week's update is gonna be kinda boring. I worked the weekend (52 hrs in 5 days, phew!) and then did errands around the house. Finally put away my suitcase and did laundry from vacation and cleaned. And planted flowers now that it is not spring anymore! Better late than never, right?

June 5-18

I had a really hard time getting back into the swing of life after vacation. It always is super hard. You have so much fun with friends and pools and warm weather then.......back to work. BOO :(

So after grudgingly going back to work, I had a fun weekend to look forward to. Wedding and a day in GR! The wedding was fun because I got to see a bunch of friends that I haven't seen in a while. They had a photo booth that we could take pictures at the reception. Here are a few:

Obviously they had some props. And some pretty awesome ones at that!

On Sunday, went to GR and had a good 'ole time with Mercedes, Natalie and Ashley! Went and walked around East GR and went to Coldstone where Ashley introduced me to the wonderfulness of sweet cream ice cream with raspberries, chocolate chips and hot fudge! Yum!

Ha look at Ashley's face

Obviously Natalie enjoyed her ice cream :)

The next week, I went over to my mom's house to help her do a few things. Later, a few of her friends came over to go out to dinner and I took them out on the boat.

Disney Day 6 (last day)

Here are the previous days because the posts are out of order:
or you can scroll down the page...

So Sarah left before dawn (like 4am or something ridiculous like that). Ashley, Natalie and I's shuttle didn't leave the hotel until 3:40pm so we had most of the day to sit by the pool after we checked out.

We did eat lunch at Beaches and Cream which was this 50's themed ice cream shop and got the "Kitchen Sink" which is this huge ice cream sundae. It had 8 scoops of ice cream, all the toppings available, oreos, brownies, angel food cake, candy bars, and a whole can of whipped cream. It was out of control!
Before

During

After.

We had people coming up to us telling us they were disappointed we didn't finish it! I feel like we did pretty good!

After lunch, we sat at the pool for a bit longer and then changed and headed to the airport.

We were so sad to be leaving! It was a great vacation and so good to see these girls that live out of state! I already want to plan our next vacation!

Disney Day 5

Alright, day 5...

Pretty much spent all our time at the pool. I know that is boring, but it was so stinking hot we couldn't do anything else without sweating buckets! Felt like we were sitting in an oven unless we were in the pool.

We did venture out for dinner.

We had reservations at a restaurant in Downtown Disney, but silly me they didn't accept our dining plans. So we shopped and saw the Lego store:

When we were riding the bus back to our hotel, Ashley and I sat at the front and these two guys got on the bus and stood really close behind our seats. Sarah and Natalie (sitting in the back of the bus) thought they should take a picture:

When we got back, we decided to try the buffet at our restaurant. Here we are waiting for our table.

After dinner, we decided to go to the dueling piano bar across the lake at the boardwalk called Jellyrolls. It was really fun and they took requests and played a lot of good songs.

The drinks were SUPER expensive though! The drink special we got tasted (according to Natalie) like leather, pennies, feet and tomahawk with the feathers (?!?).

We also enjoyed watching the couple sitting in front of us.

You can kinda see the girl in the picture above on the left in the red dress.

She was super clingy and the guy kept pushing her away. We were trying to figure out what their relationship was. We also got to see a bar fight! One girl was really drunk and there was a congo line going around the bar so I didn't see the beginning of it, but she started pushing another girl and this little bouncer (who must have weighed 115 pounds and couldn't have been older than 22) was trying to break up the fight. Was very interesting to say the least! Drama at Disney!

Disney Day 4

We decided it made sense to stay at the cheap resort on the days we spent at the parks and move to the nice resort when we would actually be spending time at the resort. Our second resort was definitely nicer than the first.

It was a short walk away from Epcot,

was across the lake from the boardwalk

overlooked one of the swimming pools

We really enjoyed our stay here and pretty much spent all our time at the pools. The resort had access to the biggest pool at the Disney resort called Stormalong Bay. It had a pirate ship slide and 3 acres of pools all connected with bridges. Some of the pools even had sand bottoms!

While sitting on the beach, a skywriter plane came and wrote this in the sky:

U + God = :)

While watching the plane, this weird bird aka "Weird-y Bird" came to say hello.

That night, we went to an African buffet at the Wilderness Lodge Resort. It was interesting to say the least. Just food we weren't used to.

Here is us trying to get a picture of all of us:

And Natalie after she accidently said something inappropriate.

At night, they showed movies on the beach on a big projector screen.

We watched Tangled, which was really cute. Except her hair turns brown when she looses her magic powers?!? A little bit insulted by that :)

Disney Day 3

Day 3 we moved to a new hotel and went to Epcot while the "magic" of Disney moved our luggage for us! Epcot was a much more adult experience. While we were bombarded with kids at Magic Kingdom, Epcot had a more relaxed atmosphere. We really only wanted to hit one ride: Soarin'.

Everyone was a little nervous due to the signs warning about motion sickness and being scared of heights. It turned out really fun though! We sat in these roller coaster-like seats with our feet dangling and got lifted up to this huge movie screen that was pretty much 180 degrees. The seats blew wind in your face and swayed with the movements of the screen so it really felt like you were flying! It was really fun!

This was the only picture I could get, we were flying over Napa Valley I think.

Afterwards, we passed Nemo and had to ride it too! We sat in "clam-mobiles" and went around pretty much an aquarium, but they projected the characters from the movie into the aquarium so it looked like they were swimming in the aquarium together.

Just take a look at Natalie's face. She's totally spaced out already!

Jellyfish.

Crush! I love the turtles in this movie!

The World Showcase was really cool. Pretty much let us travel the world with one trip!

In front of France.

In Japan, Natalie and Ashley bought oysters and got to pick settings to put the pearls in! It was really cool since you didn't know what the pearl was going to look like and some people even got two pearls.

Ashley and Natalie picking out how to use their pearls.

Germany.

The architecture was really cool in each country. It was really like being there, but on a smaller scale.

In the U.K. we met up with Winnie the Pooh and Tigger! I will post pictures of the event that transpired after this picture was taken, but it pretty much it involved us trying to get a group picture and Natalie running away (after being creeped out by the costumes) and Tigger chasing Natalie outside and us having to drag her back inside. It was hilarious.

That night, Orlando got hit by a thunderstorm for a while so Ashley bought a Disney poncho (yes she looked awesome) and we watched the fireworks after it passed. Great, long, hot and tiring day!

Disney Day 2

Day 2 we rushed right into the "Disney" experience: Magic Kingdom! Keep in mind it was blazing hot in Orlando- mid 90's plus humidity. I won't list every ride we went on, but here are a few highlights:

In front of Cinderella's castle.

First ride, my favorite from childhood: Peter Pan!

Next was It's A Small World....

And while Sarah and Ashley went on the Dumbo ride....

Natalie sat in the fake dumbo after some coaxing.

Buzz Lightyear: this was the photo we could buy, I thought it was hilarious! We were supposed to shoot those laser guns at the aliens. Look how intense they are!

Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.

And some performance about "Magical" dreams come true or something like that at the castle.

We tried to hit the iconic rides. I think the only one we didn't hit was the Teacups, because we would have all puked.... and that is NOT magical.
